Mystic Falls Future

Mystic Falls hasn't changed much in the two hundred years that followed. A few new buildings and fancier cars and that was about it. The founding families still remained, the Mystic Grill was still standing though a lot newer. There were a few more things to do. But overall it remained constant. That was what brought back the old supernatural residents.
After a year of Niklaus being dessicated he was brought back by Rebekah and they teamed up (out of desperation) to take down Alaric well dessicate him anyway. The Original fled not long after that. Klaus swearing he would be back for Elena in a few years.
But Rebekah didn't want that, she had her brother back and wasn't going to the 'doppleganger wench' destroy her family anymore. When Klaus was asleep she went back to Mystic Falls and killed Elena. Not knowing that she had vampire blood in her system from a previous wound. Rebekah fled, not knowing what had happened.
The town gave Elena a proper funeral, only a few knew that her body wasn't in the casket. That being Stefan, Damon, Caroline, Bonnie and Jeremy. They kept it amongst themselves. Tyler by that point to live with other werewolves. He couldn't live with himself knowing that on a full moon he could be the reason that Caroline ended up dead.
Several years after that Bonnie and Jeremy got married and by the time they had hit their thirties, they had two little boys under the age of five. Grayson and John Gilbert. The two of them were trouble. Matt remained friends with them and eventually met someone, starting his own family. He had a daughter, Lilly and a son named after him. That would eventually grow up to marry Grayson.
Elena ended travelling the world with Caroline, parting ways with the Salvatore brothers in 2018. They were friends, but she couldn't choose and come between them. Her and Caroline found a few men, but never anyone serious. But the two of them remained constant best friends. Damon and Stefan managed to repair their relationship and become close again.
Katherine came back about two years before this starts out, she met a descendant of Bonnie and Jeremy who offered to make her human again if she would stay in Mystic Falls and not cause trouble for the townsfolk anymore. She would naturally from 19 (the age she was turned) and live out a normal life. She studys from college courses from home and works at the grill. Of course she still couldn't settle down. Old habits die hard. She ends up being good friends with the witch.
Now two hundred years in the future and Mystic Falls old inhabitants are coming back, whether it's out of curiosity or boredom (or some hidden agenda) who knows?
